Flashcard Microbiology Privacy Policy

Last updated:

Flashcard Microbiology is developed by Andrii Halabuda and is available on iOS, iPadOS, and macOS. This policy covers the app. Websites you visit through links have their own privacy practices.

Privacy at a glance

Your study data stays on your device. The app does not require an account, show ads, provide cloud sync, or send study data to a developer server or remote API. It uses Apple's native frameworks and does not include third-party libraries, advertising SDKs, or analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.

Study data on your device

The app processes quiz answers, study progress, directory searches, and app preferences locally to provide quizzes, display progress, find organisms, and remember settings. Study progress is stored on your device. I do not receive your answers, progress, or search queries.

The app does not use advertising identifiers, tracking cookies, or tracking across other apps and websites. I do not sell your study data, share it for advertising, or use it to build a health profile.

Medical education and sensitive information

The app contains educational material about organisms, diseases, diagnosis, transmission, and treatments. The topics you study and your quiz answers are learning activity, not a medical diagnosis. The app is not designed to collect patient records or personal health information.

The content is for education and revision only. It is not personal medical advice and is not intended for diagnosing or treating patients. Information may be incomplete or become outdated. Consult a qualified healthcare professional before making medical decisions, and verify clinical information against current authoritative sources.

Do not send patient records, identifiable patient details, symptoms, medical history, or other sensitive health information in support messages. When reporting a content error, identify the topic and issue without including personal or patient information.

Apple purchases and platform services

The app offers an in-app purchase to unlock the full version. Apple processes the payment through the App Store. The app uses Apple's purchase information to determine whether the full version is unlocked. I do not receive your payment card details.

Apple handles App Store transactions and may process platform analytics and diagnostics according to your device settings and its own policies. Depending on those settings, Apple may make app diagnostics or usage reports available to the developer. This is separate from the local processing of your study data; the app does not include a separate analytics or crash-reporting service.

See Apple's Privacy Policy and Apple's information about analytics and diagnostics sharing.

Support messages

If you choose to email me, I receive your email address, your message, and any attachments you send. I use this information to respond to your request and resolve the issue. Email is handled by the email providers involved in delivery and storage. Only include information needed for your request.

Retention, deletion, and your choices

Local study data remains on your device until it is removed. To remove the app's local data, delete the app and its associated data using your operating system's controls. Offloading the app may preserve its data. I cannot access, recover, or delete study data on your device remotely.

Although the app does not provide cloud sync, operating system or device backups may include app data depending on your settings. Manage backups separately through Apple or your backup software; deleting the app does not necessarily remove existing backups. Deleting local data does not delete Apple's purchase records.

I retain support correspondence only as long as needed to handle the request and any related follow-up, unless a longer period is required by law. You can ask to access, correct, or delete information you have sent me by emailing the address below. Requests are subject to applicable legal retention requirements. Manage Apple's analytics and diagnostics sharing through your device settings, and direct requests about data held by Apple to Apple.

Security

Keep your device and operating system secure, use a device passcode or password, and manage access to your backups. No method of electronic storage or transmission, including email, can be guaranteed completely secure.

Children's privacy

The app is intended for students studying microbiology and is not directed to children under 13. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent personal information through support email, contact me so I can take steps to delete it.

Changes to this policy

I will post updates on this page and revise the date above when the policy changes. The policy should be reviewed when app features or data practices change.
